This post will be following the same theme as the 2 previous ones, how to generate more solar leads and then make more solar sales from the leads you generate. We have discoussed social media and how to use it for maximum conversions and we have also discoussed that you can track everything that your visitors do on your published content with the help of Google analytics and the built in social media tracking tools.
Here we will continue focusing on maybe the most important things for your presence online…
Your Website is Your Foundation
Just like a house first of all needs a strong Foundation to stand strong later on, so does your online precense need a foundation, a website. Only posting on social media without having a website is like building a house without a Foundation, it will fall very easily.
All of that stuff is great, however your Foundation and “bulk of content” should and must be on your website. All the roads that you build online should lead the potential customer to your website.
If you post something on social media you should always link to your website, don´t write a whole article on social media, instead you can write a small summary and then link to the “full version” that is located on your website.
If you are doing e-mail marketing you do the same thing there. Send out an e-mail to the ones on your list and present a short summary for the reader, then you put links to your website in the particular e-mail to the particular content the e-mail is about on your website.
E-mail List is VERY Important
One of the main goals with your website should be to capture (collect) e-mail adresses. The way you do this is by signing up to an e-mail marketing platform.
The most popular ones are Aweber and GetResponse that are both paid services but there is also MailChimp that is free to use (for a limited nr of subscribers to your list).
These services also got built in tracking Tools so you can see what e-mails are being opened and what links are being clicked and by who.
Then you can also connect Google analytics to your e-mail list subscribers to track their behaviour after they have clicked your links and landed on your website.
The most common way to ask a website visitor to sign up to your e-mail list is to offer them something in return. For example it could be some free advice, free ebook or as in most cases with solar companies a free quotation.
Once you got their e-mail you can contact (market) to that person for free whenever you want.
SEO (means Search Engine Optimization) and is exactly what the name suggests. You need to know that search Engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo are very important (if not the most important) things for you to focus on.
Just think about it, what do you think someone that is interested in knowing more about, or buying a solar service (that you sell) do nowadays?
Start looking in the yellow pages?
No, they will head over to a search engine like Google and start typing in what they are looking for.
One thing most of us humans got in common is that we are extremely lazy… What I try to say here is that if you are not showing up in the top 5 spots on the first page that the “searcher” land on then your stuff will not being seen by that person in 99% of the cases.
That means that it becomes VERY important for you to know about SEO because that knowledge is what will put you on page 1 in the search Engines and also in the top spots.
Google is the biggest with nearly 70% of people using it, then comes Bing and Yahoo that together has around 30% of the users online today. So your focus should be Google but do not underestimate those 30% from the other 2.
How To Improve SEO For Free?
The great thing about this is that you can actually do this for free IF you got the knowledge on how SEO works. There is a lot to it but I can assure you that you will get far if you put out good quality content on a regular basis, atleast once a week. The more the better of course.
Another very important and smart way is to make use of so called keywords in your post.
The correct way to use keywords is to put them in the beginning of your heading, then somewhere in the first and last paragraphs.
Then you can also make an H1 heading with your keyword, set your keywords (or phrase) as a tag and also put it in one of your photos that you use on the particular post.
That´s all you need to do with your keywords.
There is more
As I said before, there is a bit more to it but if you can do this 2 things consistently over a longer period of time the search engines will have a very hard time not ranking your website very good.
I see that there are many online that are teaching this the wrong way. For example you will often be told that you should focus on using backlinks, that you can use “article spinning techniques” and so on. These techniques are out dated and might have worked 10 years ago. However, nowadays it will instead be penatilized by Google and the other search engines and will do more harm than good to you and your business.
Pay To Rank High
SEO is a free way to rank high in the search engines and therefore also a great way but there is a shortcut to rank high in Google, Bing and Yahoo also.
You simply pay to get there.
This is something you should absolutely consider if you for example:
- Don´t got the knowledge
- Don´t have the time to learn
- Want to get there faster
Most successful businesses owners today don´t have the time (or patience) to learn seo and to put out content. Most simply hire someone with great knowledge in the subject to do it for them instead.
Hope you found this article to be helpful and now you know more ways to generate more solar leads and how to get ranked higher in the search Engines.
